From place to place

This is an ongoing dramaturgical project towards a theatre of ecological awareness for passing through the anthropocene towards more than human planetary conscious co-existence

Bi-Lingual notes / PT-EN

Preamble

worlding,
dwelling,
investigating practices of decoloniality

culture has multiple meanings:
culturing and cultural activities and actors come from diferent topographies
cultural actors and artists must bridge and jump trough walls and cracks

terrorist ecological action is the need of the hour,
we must reforest, we must crack the pavement,
open up holes in reality

worlding and coming through contact zones
to create new subjectivities
cyborgs and humans together
with non human companions

peace and friendship between species

we have been rendered useless by capitalism
but
donkeys are buddhist monks
and they use not violent means

we must learn from them
be friends
help each other learn
cross polinating experiences and subjectivities,

learning anew how to relate to each other,
and free each other according to our common needs.

Frida
Did you bring it?

Nic
Yes.

Frida
Perfect.

Frida
Shall we?

Nic
Yes.

Frida
Let’s go.

Nic
the walls are very high

barbed wire and police lookouts

in the fields people were planting

curved to the ground

heads down

there where the earth was

water was scarcer each day

plastic bags, clay and other bits of trash

were spread all around

the water covered inside a tube

It matters what worlds world worlds

Frida
I’d like to tell the stories of the wind and the sun

Nic
I want to become the soul of the multiverse

Frida
A new world is coming

Nic
We’ll seed it, upon ruins of the old one, and bridge the eras into a lasting peace

Nic
Seed the seeds of life

Frida
Someday…
Roots are laid
by the coming tree
underground
ants, snails and worms pass through the tunnels of dirt
underground
a million artists play punk ballads
underground
live the homeless, the stateles, the paperless
of nameless metropolis
underground
the waterwells
underground
the seeds of the future

Nic
Tomorrow is a nice day

Frida
Tomorrow all the things we wished for

Nic
Are not coming true

Frida
Tomorrow we have no idea if we’ll still be alive

Nic
Some time tomorrow we will look at the sun

Frida
Tomorow there may be peace.

Nic
If only the war would end…

Frida
Tomorrow we might be free…

Nic
The horses are just down here.

Frida
Awesome, let’s greet them.

Nic
I brought some fruits.

Frida
Wonderful. Can I feed them?

Nic
Sure. They are nice, peaceful beings. They eat only plants. Nice careful not to make to much noise though.

Frida
Sure. Are they violent?

Nic
No way. They’re not predators. They are the keepers of peace, vegetarian. Donkeys are buddhist monks and they use not violent means we must learn from them be friends help each other learn

Frida
I see.

Nic
Look, take care. They are our friends.

Frida
She is very beautiful.

Nic
Indeed.

Frida
Look, here’s an apple, here here…

Skenae 2

Frida
Maybe.

Nic
What’d you find?

Frida
Here’s a fragment of ceramic tile.

Nic
Wrecked

Frida
A sign.

Nic
A finding. We’re urban archaeologists!

Frida
So nice. These blue lines. Makes me think, where did all the tiles go? The homes now are all grey.

Nic
Maybe they went back to the earth.

Frida
It al goes back

Nic
The eternal return

Frida
Lou Andreas Salomé.

Nic
And Nietzsche’s ear.

Frida
Lou Salomé impregnated Nietzsche with the idea of the eternal return.

Nic
The world was turning into a vast desert
as we spoke
the amazon was being cut down
as we spoke
rivers in russia were red
as we speak
glaciers are melting
as we speak
as we speak
we’ll all die any way
as we speak
we’re being laughed at
as we speak
billionaires are buying larger yatches

Skenae 3

Frida
Trouxeste-as?

Nic
Sim.

Frida
Muito bem, fantástico.

Nic

Nic
Ya.

Frida
As formigas vão adorar a refeição.

Nic
Parece-me que sim.

Frida
Okay, vamos por algumas aqui, e outras ali à frente.

Nic
Um dia teremos aqui mais árvores.

Hans
Olhem! Boa tarde! O que estão a fazer aí? Vocês são donos dessa terra?

Frida
Sim…

Nic

Frida

Então nao vale a pena semear aqui…

Nic (para a Frida)
Estamos a perder tempo aqui…

Frida
Não se preocupe. Boa tarde senhoras, tudo de bom.

Frida (reading from her notebook)
furthering studies on urban water systems through wandering and derive practice
pollution is a messy problem
not sure of what the projects are
because
human construction redirects water flows toward empty spaces or “urban amnesias” so that water is both seen as unavoidable and disposable.
water can and could be seen as recuperable and ‘cleaning’ is both an ecologic as well as ancient indigenous practice, of caring and letting be, and especially not interfering mostly.
human interference with nature maybe be the core problem we face
as all of nature is seen as maleable and changeable according to out desires or fears.
in truth riverine ecosystems are turned into sewage for dirty human action and forgetfulness…

monoculturas da mente
necropolítica
trauma esfera

feitos lixo, feitos carne, feitos morte

THE NATIONAL DAY OF DOING NO THING

(A and B, alternately)

Hey dear!

Ey!

Are you celebrating today?

What?

The nothing day.

Oh I forgot. But I have so many things to do.

Oh. O.o! Thats’ a problem. Say’s you shoudn’t do anything.

But I need to walk the dogs.

They can’t do anything today.

No he can’t. No doing that today.

But I need to go and get groceries.

You can’t. Shops are closed. They are also celebrating. Did you forget?

Well… I can’t remember, can I?

May be thats’ considered doing something.

Can we go for a walk?

If you weren’t there already you shoudn’t really force it.

But why? Is the police going to arrest me?

No. Today they can’t do anything.

So… Who can?

No one.

I guess not even the president?

Not even… going on live TV?

The station workers alre also dong nothing.

Does that also apply to the unnemployed?

They are not looking for jobs.

So no way to bend the unions?

Nor bend, nor break, no thing.

So people stop.

Completely.

Do nothing.

Nothing at all.

Nothing we can do.

But who’s going to stop them?

The spirit of not doing.

If you do nothing, you can’t even die?

You can, but you’ll die for nothing.

No reason.

So, what are we to do today?

Just. Do nothing.

No thing can be done.
